Abstract: This study examines strategies for integrating sustainability practices into vocational training programs in Nigeria, addressing the imperative for environmentally and socially responsible skill development. As global concerns over climate change and sustainable development intensify, vocational education plays a pivotal role in preparing a workforce equipped with green skills and ethical practices. The research aims to (1) identify key sustainability competencies demanded by industries, (2) assess current approaches and challenges in integrating sustainability into vocational curricula, and (3) propose frameworks for embedding sustainable practices across vocational training disciplines. A survey research design is justified to gather perspectives from educators, industry practitioners, and sustainability experts. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent sectors prioritizing sustainability initiatives, such as agriculture, construction, and renewable energy in Osun State. Case studies will highlight institutions pioneering sustainability education and practices. Findings indicated a growing demand for sustainability knowledge and skills among employers, yet challenges such as curriculum alignment and resource constraints hinder widespread integration. Recommendations include developing interdisciplinary curricula, enhancing educator training in sustainability principles, and fostering industry partnerships to support sustainable skill development and innovation in vocational education.
